DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION -
CHILD DEVELOPMENT TRAINING (CDT)

Working closely with the DfE's Policy team, we spent most of 2023-24 creating 8 separate training modules. They explain complex, university-level theories and ideas to an audience of new Reception teachers, childminders and nursery workers.

WILLIAM HILL - DEPOSIT LIMIT TRACKER

As William Hill's first ever full-time UX writer, I established a content-inclusive way of working with their existing Product team. The deposit limit tracker project helped us to bridge that gap between research, design, and content when designing new products.

SAGE ERROR MESSAGES - BEFORE

A lot of error messages at Sage were inconsistent - written by different teams for different projects, and with different calls to action from each other. How might we provide more consistency across the business, with clearer directions on what needs to be fixed?

SAGE ERROR MESSAGES - AFTER

After working closely with UX design and a solution designer, we came up with a series of templates to show the 'onus' of each error (i.e. who instigated the error, who needs to fix it, and what the next steps are). This is still a work in progress, watch this space!

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON - BEFORE

Before COVID, this is the kind of content UoS had for its Virtual Open Days. Videography aside, there was no clear way to meet your potential tutors, talk to students, and get a feel for the campus. Our users expected more than just videos as part of a Virtual Open Day experience, and we were determined to give it to them.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON - AFTER

We created a platform for prospective students to explore the faculties, see courses, watch talks and and get in touch with academics through UniBuddy, a chat service. They could also ask students and support staff questions, and view videos up to 5 days before the actual Open Day itself.

ANZ BANK AUSTRALIA - BEFORE

Yep. 13 whole pages. For a long time there were two options if your business needed a loan or overdraft. Either you could call the National Business Centre in Melbourne, or print off a PDF form where you'd fill in your details, attach the documents, sign, scan, and send back to that same National Business Centre. You could get a conditional approval in weeks.

ANZ BANK AUSTRALIA - AFTER

ANZ GoBiz was created in just a few months. The questions are easier to answer, tied into an easy-to-follow narrative. We'd even built in the ability to verify your business number (ABN) in real time, and add your accounting software to get a good idea of how much you can borrow. Our users can now get a conditional approval in just 25 minutes.
